Bloating happens to the best of us no matter how hard we try to workout regularly and eat right. Before your next summer pool party full of burgers, macaroni salad and sangria has a chance to do a number on your stomach, stock your kitchen with these bloat-busting essentials.

Blast bloat this summer by eating one of these 4 foods.

Watermelon

A watermelon’s water content is 93% which is your belly bloat’s secret weapon.  If you’re dehydrated, sodium can cause you to retain water and puff out.  Eating some watermelon can hydrate you and help flush out any excess water and sodium from your system.

Cucumbers

Cucumbers contain quercetin, an antioxidant that helps reduce swelling.  They’re loaded with vitamin C and water which work together to keep you hydrated while preventing water retention and bloating. Munch on some cucumber by itself or add it to your water for some serious spa vibes.

Sauerkraut

This crunchy condiment is filled with probiotics which promotes good gut bacteria.  Sauerkraut also promotes healthy digestion and eases constipation.

Tomatoes

Tomatoes are rich in potassium—a mineral that can help reduce sodium levels in the body which ultimate reduces bloating. Try eating some sliced tomato as is or drizzle with some olive oil and sprinkle with sea salt and pepper.
